Google Rebrands Bard to Gemini.

Google is making an upgrade to the known Bard into a new AI system called Gemini in order to reflect its more advanced capabilities.

Google is also said to have been introducing a new AI model called Ultra 1.0.

Google also looks to launching a mobile app for Gemini.

Sissie Hsiao, the Vice President and General Manager of Gemini has shared how people have interacted with the AI since Bard’s launch. She says

“People all over the world have used it to collaborate with AI in a completely new way”,

giving pointers to the aim for creative image generation, job interview preparations, code debugging and brainstorm new business ideas.

With Gemini being Google’s most competent and advanced LLM (Large Language Model), it comes in three sizes: Gemini Nano, Gemini Pro and Gemini Ultra. Gemini Pro currently takes on from Google Bard. The different version sizes are capable of different tasks. While Google is offering a free version of Gemini, they are also selling the premium model for $20 a month offering the first two months free trial to encourage users to try it out.

The Gemini Mobile App

With the constant increase in the use of mobile devices, the user demand for mobile accessibility urges Google to roll out the Gemini App in Android and integration with Google App for iOS. All these will be available in the coming weeks, Google says in their blog post. With the availability of Gemini on your mobile devices it improves your productivity by enabling you to get information by typing or talking, image generation, instructions via image uploads or help with difficult tasks.

Google encourages users to try Gemini and present feedback to up user experience. With the unwavering commitment to responsible AI development, they ensure extensive safety testing and efforts to address biases to unsafe content, as per its published AI Principles.

Gemini Advanced

Gemini Advanced is a new hybrid of Gemini that makes use of Google’s latest AI model called Ultra 1.0 which has been describes as their most capable AI system. The subscription-only model costs $19.99 per month as a part of the Google One AI Premium Plan, with a two-month free trials which includes 2TB of cloud storage.

Gemini Advanced was created as an improvement to work with complex tasks like logical reasoning, coding and creative works. It gets information from previous conversations and can maintain a long thread of conversation.
